Agatized Coral sometimes referred you as petrified or silicated coral is created when under certain conditions the calcium carbonate coral skeleton reacts silica bearing materials, thus creating the petrified or agatized coral stone.

This specimen is a hand-cut creamy tan Tear Drop or Pear cabochon with circular patterns with darker geometric centers resembling stacked flowers in colors of lemon yellow, orange and burnt orange. The stone is a one-of-a-kind semi-precious piece of art with both an upper and lower girdle to ease the setting of the stone. The stone is polished to a high vitreous luster both front and back. The back is flat ready for mounting.
