Due to the vibrant red, orange, yellow, purple and even strikingly white, Arizona Rainbow Petrified Wood is often referred to "rainbow wood" or "pet wood".
This particular piece is cut parallel to the original trees rings. Pseudomorphs of the original growth rings are visible within the stone traversing across the stone.
The stone is polished to a high vitreous polish both front and back. The back is flat for setting.
