Due to the vibrant red, orange, yellow, purple and even strikingly white, Arizona Rainbow Petrified Wood is often referred to "rainbow wood" or "pet wood".

A hand cut and polished semi-precious cabochon made from Arizona Rainbow Petrified Wood. This particular piece displays all of the famous rainbow wood colors in bands. Imagine these colored bands were most likely the tree’s growth rings at one time. The stone is cut in a Kite with both an upper and lower girdle to facilitate easy stone setting. The specimen is polished to a high vitreous luster.

The cabochon is ideal for a pendant, broach, bolo, cuff and wire-wrapping.
