Due to the vibrant black, red, orange, yellow, purple and even strikingly white, Arizona Rainbow Petrified Wood is often referred to "rainbow wood" or "pet wood".

A hand cut and polished semi-precious cabochon made from an Arizona Petrified Wood stone. This particular piece displays a strong-burnt yellow color with sprigs of red running through the stone. There is also a splotchy peach orange cast across the face that gives the stone a glowing reddish orange color. The stone is cut in an Sail with both an upper and lower girdle to facilitate easy stone setting. The specimen is polished to a high vitreous luster.

The cabochon is ideal for a pendant or ring.
