Due to the vibrant black, red, orange, yellow, purple and even strikingly white, Arizona Rainbow Petrified Wood is often referred to "rainbow wood" or "pet wood".

This particular piece displays a strong-burnt yellow color with sprigs of red running through the stone. There is also a splotchy peach orange cast across the face that gives the stone a glowing reddish orange color.

The stone is polished to a high vitreous polish both front and back. The back is flat for setting.
