Cherry Creek Jasper, a very colorful stone with a wide variety of colors and patterns is mine from the Cherry Creek mine in China. The creek named Cherry Creek actually runs through the area near the mine and the area where this rock was discovered. Again, like some of the other lapidary stones, this one is not a true jasper as it is primarily composed of dolomite instead of Chalcedony. It is believed the stone was formed in an ancient ocean from the different layers of sediments.
Cherry Creek Picasso Jasper Cabochon; a fancy hand cut and polished semi-precious cabochon made from the rare Cherry Creek Jasper. The stone is a medium height with colors of yellow, orange, olive, brown and hints of green splashed across the surface. The stone also displays a section with sparkling pyrite crystals.
