Burro Creek Wilderness area lies along nine miles of the upper reaches of Burro Creek, a perennial stream crossing through the wilderness. The Upper Burro Creek Wilderness area covers over 27,000 acres. Burro Creek is a rock hound’s paradise, but the area does not easily give up its most sought after purple crystals, opal or jasper stones.
The piece is a rare purple Chert with minute hints of maroon dispersed within the purple. This stone has a high girdle.
The stone is polished to a high luster both front and back. The back is flat ready for mounting.
