Lapis Lazuli, also referred to as Lapis, is a deep rich blue color. The stone's name is derived from the Latin word lapis, meaning stone and the Arabic word azul meaning blue; blue stone. The stone is composed of Lazurite and often streaked with pyrite, which is one of its identifiers.
