Lepidolite is a rare lavender colored, lithium-rich mica mineral. When impregnated with one of the forms of quartz, Lepidolite may be used as a semi-precious gemstone. At times Lepidolite may also be found in the colors of pink, light red or purple. This stone is a one-of-a-kind medium height piece with lavender plumes of Lepidolite and white Albite across a milky quartz field. The stone is cut in a Narrow Tapered Baguette with both an upper and lower girdle to facilitate setting the stone. The cabochon is polished to a high luster.
In this specimen, the white is the mineral Albite, the lavender is Lepidolite the speckles are Mica and the milky area is quartz.
The cabochon is ideal for a pendant and/or smaller statement piece.
