Marcasite or “white iron pyrite” is a pale yellow to almost white pyrite with a bright metallic luster. Marcasite is lighter and more brittle than pyrite. The slab of marcasite is encased in a quartz matrix.
This specimen has pyrite dendrites through the entire cabochon.
The stone is polished to a high luster both front and back. The back is flat ready for mounting.
