Mozambique, a country in Africa just due west of Madagascar; a hop skip and a jump across the water.
This specimen was cut from a nodule. This a oval cut and polished agate with several tubes that have been cross-sectioned during the polishing process.
The stone is polished to a high luster both front and back. The back is flat ready for mounting.
