Relatively new find of out of Mexico named Serape Jasper after its namesake, the brightly colored Mexican shawl or blanket. The stone has smooth bands of earthen colors; white, orange, brown, black, reds, purples, tans and yellows to name a few. The stone is cut in an Oval with both an upper and lower girdle to facilitate setting the stone. The cabochon is polished to a high vitreous luster.
The cabochon is ideal for a jewelry component, cuff, broach, pendant, ring and/or statement piece.
