Shoofly Agate is a very colorful banded agate found within narrow seams of basalt.
This piece of shoofly agate has a very unusual pattern within the chalcedony with a mixture of contrasting blacks, greys, purples, orange, whites and reds. This stone exhibits some signs of healed stress from plate movement.
The stone’s provenance: Houston Mesa, Arizona.
The stone is polished to a high vitreous finish both front and back. The back is flat ready for mounting.
