Shoofly Agate is a very colorful banded, plumed or dendritic agate found within narrow seams of basalt in central Arizona.

This specimen of shoofly agate has dendrites within the chalcedony with a mixture of contrasting blacks, greys, purples, orange, whites and reds. This stone exhibits some signs of healed stress from plate movement.

The stone’s provenance: Houston Mesa, Arizona.

The stone is polished to a high vitreous finish both front and back. The back is flat ready for mounting.
