Shoofly Agate is a very colorful banded, plumed or dendritic agate found within narrow seams of basalt in central Arizona.
This specimen of shoofly agate has contrasting blacks, greys, purples, orange, whites and reds.
This stone exhibits some signs of healed stress from plate movement.
The stone’s provenance: Houston Mesa, Arizona.
The stone is polished to a high vitreous finish both front and back. The back is flat ready for mounting.
