Uncommon Blue and Gold Tiger’s Eye chatoyant gemstone fashioned into a domed crescent. The stone’s chatoyance is derived from altering layers of quartz crystals and fibrous forms of riebeckite.
This stone has both layers of blue-grey and gold throughout the stone. The brilliant chatoyance of the gold somewhat over shadows that of the blue-grey.
The provenance of the stone is unknown, since the rough was purchased at a gem show.
The stone is polished to a high glass luster both front and back. The back is flat ready for mounting.
Photographed under full spectrum LED's.
