Tigerite Tiger’s Eye chatoyant gemstone fashioned into an oval. The stone’s chatoyance is derived from altering layers of macrocrystalline quartz. The stone starts as crocidolite, which over time quartz becomes embedded into the crocidolite. The stone is closely related to hawk’s eye.
Provenance unknown.
The stone is polished to a high glass luster both front and back. The back is flat ready for mounting.
