Red Brown Tiger’s-Eye, a chatoyant gemstone fashioned into a cabochon. The stone’s chatoyance is derived from altering layers of quartz crystals and fibrous forms of riebeckite. The reddish color comes from a high iron-oxide content.
Red Tiger’s-Eye comes primarily from South Africa.
The stone is polished to a high glass luster both front and back. The back is flat ready for mounting.
Photographed under full spectrum LED’s.
